The SpaceX Commercial Resupply Mission 16, carrying the GEDI instrument in the Dragon capsule of the Falcon 9, launched successfully on December 5th, 2018 at 1:16 PM from Cape Canaveral in Florida. The GEDI instrument is now orbiting the earth inside the trunk of the Dragon capsule and will reach the International Space Station on Saturday morning December 8th, 2018.
