GEDI is currently undergoing final environmental tests in anticipation of its planned launch on SpaceX-16 on 27 November 2018. GEDI successfully completed acoustic, vibration and electromagnetic interference testing over the last several weeks. The instrument is now in the Space Environment Simulator (SES) chamber at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to test the instrument’s behavior in space-like temperature and pressure conditions. GEDI is scheduled to begin this last round of testing on 4 September 2018, followed by instrument turnover to SpaceX on 24 October 2018.
